Welcome to Elite Streets Mag!

Finally, We have kicked this thing off and we are good-to-go!
By J.R. Janicek, Editor of Elite Streets Magazine

ESM Editor-J.R. JanicekWelcome to the new kid on the block... Elite Streets Magazine (ESM)! To kick things off, I want to first mention just what ESM is all about. ESM is a small on-line non-print magazine that covers the world of custom autos... One shot at a time (nice touch, huh?). If it has at least four wheels, is powered by an internal combustion engine, and looks good... you better believe we will be snapping pictures and writing stories! We will cover those sporty euro compacts, sport trucks, and even those head turning classic hot rods. Think of ESM as your everything custom auto resource on the web... in small doses. After all, ESM just might be what the doctor prescribed for those of us that have that peculiar "virus!"

With that said, ESM will be looking for that small "dosage" of hot feature rides at auto shows in order to fill the covers and pages of this on-line magazine we so proudly have presented to you here. Though we are very interested in shows, ESM will focus its attention on feature articles, not shows. Not that shows won't be listed, they will, but... only in summary. If you want to see pages and pages of trucks and cars without the description of the work that was involved, then I suggest maybe going to another website that emphasizes show coverage exclusively, otherwise you will be disappointed if you expect that here.

ESM's benchmark is that of custom automotive photographic journalism. We take photos of autos and then write about what we took pictures of... precisely, accurately, and intelligently. This is not a magazine of just objective points of view, it is a presentation and endorsement of the 15 billion dollar-a-year industry of custom automotive works. We believe that custom auto work is more than just mechanics and sheet metal... it is some what of an art form. Hell, just take a look at the autos you see at some of these shows. It takes more than mechanical know-how to assemble such a well thought out concept. The fact of the matter is this, I think of custom autos as a peculiar art form that deserves a lot of attention. Though this particular art form is not for everyone, I believe that everyone can benefit to a certain degree when they understand the time, effort, and creativity involved in these works of art that can be seen cruising down your street from time to time. Meanwhile, we will ignore the "bad apples" that see the custom scene as an opportunity to commit illegal acts with an excuse!

Now, ESM is new and though we realize we have a lot of road to cover in order to "prove" ourselves to custom auto enthusiasts (such as yourself), we hope that you understand the time involved in bringing to you a strictly pro-bono service of promoting what we truly have a passion for... automobiles... the custom type. We believe that in order to walk (eventually gaining the strength to run), we have to crawl, hence, this magazine will be published quarterly (4 times annually) until the staff, popularity, demand, and monetary funds increase. In the interim, the staff of ESM will duly note, as well as greatly appreciate, any positive feedback or ideas that you may have, after all, without you, we will not exist!

Until next time... keep it legal and keep it safe.
