Fast Eddy (a.k.a Ed White) is a regular feature here at Elite Streets Magazine and we don't mind it one bit. As long as Ed is laying his ideas on the drawing board, we will gladly feature him. If you are not already familiar with Ed White here is the quick 4-1-1 on the man with a drawing plan:

"I was born into a family that knew the value of a bad ass car. I came home in a '66 SS 396 Chevelle. In '73 my dad bought a '66 GTO convertible and that's where it started. My folks said that if I wanted something real bad to draw it. Then in grade school my parents threatened to take away the Dukes of Hazzard if they got another note from my teacher saying I was drawing cars... again. In high school my buds would actually bet me (and loose) to see if I could design a car for whatever the theme was given by our teacher. That's when people started saying I should sell these. I had been raised around horsepower all my life and when I was 15 (after first buying a '69 Chevelle, then a '63 Impala SS) I bought my '67 GTO. Two years of hard labor netted me a sweet Candy Tangerine GTO that earned me the name Fast Eddy by my college English professor. It didn't dawn on me to let go and make some money with this talent until in my 20's when I got laid off from a drafting job and desperately started Bitchin' Car Art."

"My (now ex-) wife said I'd never make any money drawing cars. After the divorce, I started Rod Art by Ed. That kept getting interrupted by my folks and died on the vine. Then, in 1996, on a date with Melinda (my wife) we discovered SRC Motorsports by gawking at a 1930 Model A. One year later I saw them at the Houston Autorama and they put me to work... drawing cars. They needed an invoice with a name on it and Fast Eddy's Hot Rod Art just came out of my pen and since this one is going, I'm keeping it. The year 2000 saw the business number and tax benefits that come with being a real business, and now, after painting cars in my garage for 20 years, I've opened a shop. Now, not only do I design cars and their paint jobs, I can paint them as well... and not get harassed by the HOA (Home Owners Association)!"

By the way, Ed is a gun for hire, so if you wish to have your project built on paper before you break the piggy bank and bust a few knuckles, you can contact Ed at: 281.455.2883. Also keep in mind that Ed can paint the real deal, too! If you want a wicked paint job on your ride, Ed can "git-er-done!" To catch a glimpse of more examples of Ed's work, go to www.fehrarules.com. Be sure to tell Ed that ESM sent ya!

Click here to enlarge! Since Plymouth doesn't exist anymore, and there never was a Charger convertible, the Road Runner could be made by Chrysler... with smoked headlights and taillights of a slightly different style, lowered stance and the classic Road Runner hood, this two door version looks like it was designed as a model of its own. It also has a different grille than the Charger and its R/T brother... and it's wrapped in Panther Pink and black deck stripes.
Click here to enlarge! This truck belongs to Brandon LeBlanc (the Gator Drag guy). Brandon's truck has a 4Runner bumper, later model Isuzu grille, and air suspension. The interior has 1959 Chevy dash, and 1965 Mustang seats. The whole bed floor has been raised and finished in wood.
Click here to enlarge! This car is a 2006 Dodge Viper GTS. The paint is obviously taken from a P-51 Mustang (THE coolest WWII bird ever...followed closely by the Corsair) with the D-Day stripes and Tiger mouth. The cross in the grille is black like the prop. Some of the mechanicals are reworked as well, such as the instrument panel is all war birded out and the exhaust is unmuffled and exits the upper front fenders. The wheels are 19 and 20 inch copies of the wheels found on the P-51, silver-grey with chrome hoops.
Click here to enlarge! This truck is currently being built by Adrenaline Rides in San Antonio. This, too is a mild custom only the running gear is all new, late model. The body is pretty much stock with shaved door handles. The suspension is air and the wheels are Budnik Tillers.
Click here to enlarge! This is another Fast Eddy original design. Jeeps seem to have the right parts, but not in the right places... for a hot rod that is. This was something Ed wanted to do since college. It all started out with a friend of Ed's saying he wanted to see a hood scoop shaped like a cow skull. Then came the grille and so on. Ed wanted something totally new that still screamed Jeep. The name Brazen (and its accompanying definition) are spot on. It's a Jeep that's low, two wheel drive, driven by a Hemi, a pick up, and styled like a street rod. What else could one possibly need?
Click here to enlarge! Ed did this rendering for Steve Bauer who is serving in the U.S. Navy overseas. Steve wanted a mild custom old school ride, so Ed kept it simple in this rendering with the new big inch Cragars with a mild lowered suspension. The top is chopped 4" and the whole thing is covered in bright yellow with red and black pinstriping.
Finally, the red and white pickup at the top of this feature is an original design by Ed and it looks like a Silverado by accident. This was inspired by a trimming off an extruded 2x4 "channeling" they use for building walls in office buildings. Ed picked it up, put two small binder clips on it and it just looked like a truck. With the odd pillar arrangement, Ed went Cameo style with the white roof and chrome surrounded area on red along with the wraparound windshields. Ed also went with a clean grille with a spear going through it (which gives it the Silverado look) with the new composite headlights. Those have two big ol' headlights with halos, projector beam brights, two big ol' turn signals and eight LEDs. The taillights are also composites done in a red chrome under clear lenses with two big ol' brakelights and two smaller reverse and turn lights. The grille is done in sheet metal punched full of holes and accordioned Mercedes style. This is a big truck! Notice the shape of the tailgate... it's not smaller at the bottom, it's wider at the top. The shape of the body is wider toward the rear, as wide as a dually back there with enough room in the thick bedsides for more stowage! In fact, the exhaust ends in 6" stainless cans. The wheel combo is 26" front and 28" rear. The power for such a beast? What else but a politically incorrect fuel injected V-10! Now we're talkin'!
