This year marked the 9th year for the Southeastern Mini-Truckin' Nationals Auto Show. As you may already know, this show is presented by AutoShows.cc. The event site at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center, located in Lebanon, Tennessee was perfect. With acres of show grounds, a burn-out pad, drag & brag strip, and one large pavilion for an awesome bikini contest, who could ask for more?
The show grounds opened up on Friday morning for all of the early birds and was a setup day only. Saturday, at the fairgrounds, a short walk landed us in the middle of the fairgrounds ready for some action. Die-hards came early and had everything shined before the sun ever broke the horizon. There were more than 500 vehicles and three times as many people.
The show consisted of a USACI sound competition held through out the day on Saturday and Sunday. Around mid-day, the burnout competition began. Many rides fried tires on a metal plate with everyone on hand to watch.
Following the burnout was the much anticipated bikini contest held on the main stage under the pavilion. Eight lovely women graced the stage and put on a show that caused many of us to drool! Around early evening came the drag and brag contest. As the show wound down on Saturday, campfires lit up in the distance from a few of the spectators camping out at the fairgrounds.
The final day of the show included a full-on hydraulics competition and lowest of the low competition. At the end of the day several hundred awards were given out at the awards ceremony. Overall, this show was good-to-go in our book!
We look forward to covering an even larger show in 2006. Remember, to check out the AutoShows.cc website for updates on their other shows as well. Until next year... |
