Clean S-Machine By J.R. Janicek

This super clean Chevy S-Dime is a fine example of a Tennessee sport truck. Justin Morgan of East Tennessee created the ultimate ride using his 1991 Chevy S-10 standard cab as the canvass for a cool creation. We dig the first generation S-Dimes here at ESM, so if you own one and it is currently under the knife, at a minimum you need to follow Justin's lead to get our attention. Moving right along...

Being a proud member of the AcrophobiA family, Justin had decided the first priority was to get his truck down to ground level. This was achieved by using airbags at all four corners along with a 3-inch body drop performed by Brandon Byrd. The truck has been lowered by means of 2-inch dropped spindles up front and 2600lb air bladders all the way around. To allow such a dramatic change in altitude, the frame required a C-notch to clear the rear axle and a 4-link setup replaces the original leaf springs.

Next on the menu was a list of custom body modifications. The stake pockets on the bedrails, taillights, and the tailgate handle were shaved. The rear bumper was removed and replaced with a molded-in roll pan with Cadillac DeVille taillights. The tailgate and roll pan were eventually molded together for a very clean one-piece look. The bed received custom chopped trailer fenders that were molded into the bed and a spray-in bedliner covers the sheet metal for max protection. Justin's truck was also cleared of all identifying badges and moldings. The side view mirrors, door handles, and antenna also made their way to the scrap pile. The stock grille shell was swapped out for a full face phantom grille with recessed head lights. Polishing off the exterior modifications, Justin had the body sprayed with Chevy Corvette Blue and the fenders were stuffed with 20-inch Tyfun chrome hoops wearing 235/30/20 Falken rubber.

The interior of Justin's truck was treated to a billet steering wheel, billet door handles, and billet window cranks. The stock door panels were removed and replaced with custom made door panels. The bench seat was covered in tan vinyl with 2-inch pleats along with the rest of the interior. The dash was smoothed and painted to match and a custom fiberglass gauge cluster made its way into the dash. Tan carpeting finishes up the custom interior. All interior work was performed by Brandon Byrd.

Under the hood, Justin kept things simple by upgrading to a chrome air cleaner. The firewall was smoothed, custom fenders were installed, and the battery was relocated. You will notice the top of the engine is exposed through a cut-out in the center of the hood that mimics the days of old.

Justin's truck is already a show vehicle that has taken home a few trophies. From top to bottom, inside and out, Justin has one "Clean S-Machine" to be completely proud of.

Shout Out: "Thanks to my friends, family, AcrophobiA, Brandon Byrd for the interior work and body drop, Kyle, and NEVRDUN Kustoms." -Justin Morgan
