If you are a Chevelle fan then this show is for you! Chevell-abration is the largest All-Chevelle Show around, open to all 1964-1972 Chevelles, Malibus, El Caminos, and other related GM A-bodies, such as Canadian Beaumonts and GMC Sprints. It is the annual convention for Members of the American Chevelle Enthusiasts Society (ACES), and is co-hosted by the Mid-South Chevelle Club in Tennessee. Held at Moss Wright Park, about 10 miles north of Nashville, Tennessee (Goodlettsville, TN) we can assure you this is one show not to miss!
This three-day Chevelle enthusiast show is full of activities. Chevelles started arriving earlier in the week, but on Thursday cars started rolling into Moss Wrigh Park for show preparation. Thursday is no doubt the most "laid back" day, and most participants were easy to find and talk to while they were making their cars show ready. Thursday evening participants got a chance to take their rides for a spin at the 1/8-mile track at the Music City Raceway in Nashville, Tennessee. Friday was the day of the "Big Show," and all Chevelle showcars were parked on the show field for judging. There were plenty of participant activities (incredible door prizes, $1,000 cash prize, seminars, pedal car races, redneck horseshoes, the infamous Rod Toss, and even Hot Wheels races) going on throughout the entire event and even a relaxing Country-side cruise through the beautiful hills of Tennessee on Friday evening. Saturday offered plenty more of the same, with all registered cars on the show field, family activities and contests, and the Awards Ceremony/BBQ followed by another huge All-Chevelle Cruise! Sunday, the participants packed up their belongings and hit the highway.
All show participants received a Goody bag stuffed with catalogs, coupons, gifts, and a free event T-shirt. However, if you want to bring your Chevelle, display it on the Show Field, and take part in all the event activities, you have to be an active ACES member. Check out the next ACES Chevell-abration June 7-9, 2007. Until then, enjoy the 2006 show coverage. |
