Elite Streets Magazine Presents - Fast Eddy's Hot Rod Art!
Copyright © Fast Eddy's Hot Rod Art 2008

So you want to get your custom ride featured in a magazine? Chances are that you will have to spend a lot of time, money, and imagination to reach that lofty goal. You're on your own when it comes to how you spend your time and money, but ESM can at least give you a little boost in the right direction. It takes a lot of thinking to come up with an original idea. To simply pull that idea out of the back of your brain housing and throw it onto the pavement in real time is even more challenging! ESM personally believes it helps to see a rendering of that original idea on paper, so then it becomes a blueprint that guides the buildup process.

One of the most highly sought after rendering artists is Ed White of Fast Eddy's Hot Rod Art. Ed is a regular feature here at Elite Streets Magazine and for a good reason... he's damn good with a pencil! Ed leaves no stone unturned when it comes to custom auto concepts. The low down on Ed and how he got into his current profession can be traced back to when he was wearing short pants. Little did his family realize that Ed's desire to write on walls was more than just a phase that would follow him into his adult life. Now, Fast Eddy lays down some of the sickest automotive ideas around on fine canvass!

So, if you are in the middle of a project or just starting one, Ed can help you make your dreams a reality by laying it out on paper long before you start bustin' a few knuckles, just give him a ring at: 281.455.2883. Also, keep in mind that Ed can paint the real deal, too! If you want a wicked paint job on your ride, Ed can get the party started for you, provided you have enough greenbacks to cover his talented services.

Vicky's Secret

Ed was at the grocery store with his wife and in the cosmetics section it hit him when he saw the Rimmel Underground display. Looking at their logo, Ed could just see this car-- Vicky's Secret. The name breaks down like this: Vicky is the body style, like the Crown Victoria, namely the 1932 Vicky and the secret is it has an all Ferrari driveline. The body is all steel with billet trim and canvas over steel roof.

1951 Caddy B-17

Like the P-51 Viper, this is a military themed ride obviously patterned after the B-17 bomber. The wheels are 22" versions designed after the bomber's. The bumper has a total of four "bullets" for the four engines, the grille is full of fake radial engines made from discarded motorcycle engines, the "guns" are located in the roof, rear valence area and two in the side trim. The lower body is stock, but the hood has been pancaked about four inches in the front. The top has been chopped about 6-inches (since the B-17 looks chopped) and a "splitter" has been mounted in the center of the windshield.

1967 Super Stang

This is another one of those cars pulled from one of Ed's dreams (when he isn't dreaming about the sexy playmates at the Playboy mansion). It's low, it's flat and it's based on a 1967 Mustang convertible with fastback quarters and Shelby taillights. The bumper area is carefully crafted sheet metal to emulate the original bumper. This has a blown 460 and the exhaust blows through Eleanor style side pipes. The roll bar is like the late model Saleen units. The hood, fenders, and chin area are all fiberglass for weight benefits.

2004 Wifer GTS

We introduce the solution to newly married hot rod fans-- Thee Wifer GTS. Ed's ideal is that this car would be for the wife of a hot rod guy. It may sound a little sexist, but it is the grocery getter and rug-monkey hauler. The hubby can drive it, too... ummm... that's if he's allowed! Obviously, it's based off the GTS coupe, even the gas filler is in the same place, only with a bit more area for hauling something other than ass! The roof features an integrated spoiler and liftgate. Inside, there's a rear facing foldable seat that can carry two small children.

2007 H4 Sport

The next one is the (Hummer) H4 Sport. Ed did a little trick here. Nowhere on this does it say "Hummer"-- it simply says "H4". Range Rover has their sport, BMW has theirs, so naturally, Ed figured AM General should step up to the plate and take a swing in that direction. Since the H2 is a reskinned Tahoe with a mixed bag suspension, Ed started with a Tahoe and Hummered it up using hot rod Chevy parts. The body styling is all Hummer except for the front windshield frame and wheel openings. The front still flips open, and it still has tow hooks and a winch hole in the bumper. The vent in the top of the hood has been changed a little and so has the little vent on the side at the base of the A-pillars.
