If you want to know what Flo Jalin does for a living you're not alone. Basically she gets paid to be a hot chick, which is similar to, but slightly different than being a model because technically to be a model you have to model something, like a sweater or socks. Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, she now lives in Los Angeles because that is where hot chicks go when they want to become famous in the modeling industry. She began modeling in 1998 after a friend talked her into modeling for a calendar. She has done many calendars since then. You may remember her from years such as 1999, 2002, or for 2004, which of course was a leap year. In addition to her work in calendars, she has won numerous swimsuit competitions including but not limited to Miss Hawaiian Tropics Maui 1999, Miss Hawaii Tropics Honolulu 2000, and Miss Hawaiian Tropics Taiwan 2000. But wait, there is more. Flo also makes appearances at local glamour shows where she can be found working as a hip-hop go-go dancer at all the coolest clubs in LA. ESM had an interview with Flo for all of you to enjoy, and here's what she had to say...

- Where were you born and where do you live now?
I'm originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, but now I reside in Los Angeles, California.
- What made you pursue modeling?
Well, I made friends with Miss Hawaii International. I used to really admire her because I thought she was so beautiful. Little did I know, she thought that of me too. She was making a calendar one year and she asked me to be in the calendar. For months, I said no way and refused to be in the calendar. Well one day, she tricked me. She told me to come to a shoot and just hang out with her and lay out. I had my swimsuit on, and the photographer there snapped a few shots of me for fun. When the photos were developed and I saw them, the first thing I thought was 'Oh my god, that's me! I'm beautiful!' I kept those pictures in my purse and I showed everyone, I was so excited about them. And from that day forth, I knew I was going to be a model, that it was my destiny.
- What do you enjoy most about modeling?
What I like about modeling most is the variety. I love the different things that I get to do. It's not just one thing all the time. It's always different. It could be a party that I'm getting painted at, an event that I'm seeing fans at, a fashion shoot or a shoot for my website. I'm always at a different place and it's always
challenging and new.
- What are your favorite foods?
Anything that doesn't include cheese. I love Asian food, sushi and Thai food. Seafood, and deserts galore! I love to cook. In fact, in a DVD I recently shot, they videotaped me cooking my special recipe which is Salmon Seaweed soup.
- What kind of music do you listen to?
All sorts, really. Hip-hop, R&B, dance, inspirational, whatever.
- Since you are single, we have to ask, what do you look for in a guy?
Number one, he has to have a really good heart. I really admire honestly, ambition, and he has to love animals. He has to be adventurous, and love to eat! Since I love to cook, he'd have to eat my cooking.
- And what is your biggest guy turn-off?
My biggest turn off is when guys only look at me externally instead of how I am on the inside. You kow, staring at my chest and saying, "Hi, how are you doing? It's nice to meet you!" That is the biggest turn-off of them all. I don't always wear revealing tops because I don't want them to focus on my body, I want them to focus on me, meaning my personality.
- What are your goals in life?
I don't really have any specific plans for my future. I don't want to sound like I don't have any goals or anything, but I sort of let destiny guide me. And it's been really good to me so far!
- What do you do in your spare time?
I'm very adventurous and I'm very much an outdoor person. So I love to go rollerblading and biking on the beach. I love to be outdoors and spending some quality time with my friends. I'm not an indoor person. I don't like to stay inside and watch tv. I always like to go out and try new things.
- What is one thing you want people to know about you?
I think I'm a very transparent person. People can get to know me almost immediately. I'm very accepting of others. I like people who are real.
- How do you feel about being an ESM feature model?
I think it's great!
