Motor Mania 2009

In celebration of The Street Machines of Rochester 35th anniversary, the organization decided to throw a high caliber indoor car show known as "Motor Mania" in the Dome Center in Henrietta, New York. The Rochester area had not seen a show like this since 1992!

Although the show was open to the public for viewing, all participants at this show were by invitation only. The show included top quality cars, bikes, trikes, rods, mini-trucks, sport trucks and even a full custom semi! A lot of the participants came from outside of the Henrietta/Rochester area including: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey and Canada.

Over 300 local students had a chance to get an exclusive "sneak-preview" on Friday afternoon. The students came from local districts and vocational/technical schools in order to encourage possible careers in the custom automotive industry.

The weekend was packed full with various events. The Pinstriper's Brush Blast & Benefit was held throughout the weekend, sponsored by Valley Cadillac Hummer. The talented crew of pinstripers striped and hand lettered any item brought to them during the show. There was a silent auction with one of a kind artwork created exclusively by these talented artists. All proceeds from the Brush Blast benefitted the Isaiah House, part of Rochester Hospice.

On Saturday, the Buffalo Jills made an appearance and Rochester's own Lou Gramm of Foreigner was in attendance over the weekend, displaying one of his classic cars and also signing autographs. Tony Cenzi of Cenzi Custom Cycles did a 3-day bike build at the show! This was a great opportunity to see a master craftsman transform raw metal into a work of art in just a few days.

An engine built by Farmer Automotive was given away on Sunday, at the awards ceremony. During the awards ceremony proceeds from the Brush Blast in the amount of $2,520 was presented to Rochester Hospice along with an additional $600 that was presented by The Street Machines of Rochester.

Motor Mania was made possible with the help of the following sponsors: Hoffman Auto Mall, Advance Auto Parts, Castle, Wegmans, Valley Cadillac Hummer, Tim's Trim, Southtown Beverage, Holiday Inn Express, 96.5 WCMF, Cenzi Custom Cycles, and Farmer Automotive.
